Sorry that I haven't been able to update in a while. I was very busy last week!! I got an awesome new purse, and I'm pretty excited about it.
Well I may have to change the name of my blog soon. Translating Singlish may become Translating Arabic. Because I am most likely moving to Saudi Arabia soon. CRAZINESS!!!!
I am very heartbroken though. I have such dear friends here in Singapore, and recently have been hanging out with a new group quite a bit. And I am planning to pick up some books about learning Arabic (though Latin, Spanish and French will fall through the cracks, but survival is more important than spouting the Pledge of Allegiance in Latin randomly). OK Tinky, I don't think anyone else reading this blog will understand, so I have to explain. From when I was 13, I had to memorize the Pledge of Allegiance (USA, of course) in Latin, and to this day I can still recite the whole thing:
Fidem meam obligō vexillō Civitātum Americae Foederatārum et Reī Publicae, prō quā stat, ūnī natiōnī, Deō ducente, nōn dividendae, cum lībertate iūstitiāque omnibus.
Anyways, Arabic it is. I know that it's not essential, but I might as well try to learn something. I've learned a bit of Singlish, but nowhere near the standards of a local! I learned a new word: a post-positive "sia", which is used as an intensifier (which I actually believe it to be more along the lines of an interjection, but I've given up trying to understand a language that more of una mezcla de lenguas [mix of tongues].
Es posible que voy a blog en espanol a veces porque necesito practicar!! Peut etre en francais aussi. I give up on Latin until I have time to pick it up again. The verbs are easier to figure out than to conjugate off the top of my very wrinkly brain. Aliquando ibo dicere en latina etiam --> Aliquando etiam en latinam dicere ibo.
Oh my. Latin is DIFICILE!!!!!
So what else? Thanksgiving was quite an un-Thanksgiving time because I was a bit upset about the Mumbai Terrorist Attacks, and I ended up going to Howl at the Moon (in poor taste), which is a comedy club. Poor taste because I didn't really feel like laughing when I was feeling a bit morose.
Also, I got a look at Brisingr, and I'm totally going to gobble this lovely lovely book during my Bali trip. I am incredibly excited about this!!!!
This week should be a bit busy. I really want to read Brisingr though tonight. We'll see. Then tomorrow is gymnastics class, then Wednesday is for Mee Hoon Kuey. I have to be at the airport by 4 AM on Thursday, (I'll be landing in Bali at 8 AM).
OKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK yeah I got nothing else. TTYL
LOVE,
SANSIES
