Why do most fashion models have their makeup done in ways that make them look dead?

Does anyone really find it attractive?  

Don't go all mannequin on me.

On a side note, I wish that Photoshopping people became illegal. 

Call it false advertising, if you will.

Why are we teaching little girls that this is what people should strive to resemble? I think it's hideous.
