This Past Week

Hm...what has happened so far this week? I started to work on a different project in Mexico, which is exciting. I downloaded Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, which took me all day yesterday to download. So SLOW. So I'm organizing all these documents into one big GIGANTIC PDF file and then sorting out what is what (including translating it into English from Spanish).

So what else happened this week? I've been working with the investment bank for the other project in the UAE. It's fun. On Monday night I got to go to this Kenichi Ohmae dinner and met some people in the consulting field. It was totally awesome - though I didn't really talk about business - more about Singapore. I'm learning more and more about Singapore (not necessarily good/bad information, just the way things work here).

So what else? This whole week I've been focusing on the UAE project and a bit of the Mexican project.

Last night I went to Orchard for some Japchae! But it was a bit too oily. I prefer the one in Takashimaya (Ngee Ann City).

Tonight I'm going to the opera, and afterwards I have no clue what I will be doing. It's such a time crunch because I get off of work at 6, then I have to run home and shave the legs, then I have to run off to Esplanade - of course taking a taxi - and meeting Jack there.

Saturday is a day filled with swimming and tennis around Somerset

Matchbox Twenty - Disease

Friday after work I went to Fpoo's house to help MamaM with her ladies-only dinner party. It was catered by her aunt, and the food was traditional Malay. It was so much fun, and I met some more new people. The best food though was the appetizer - lychee stuffed with minced shrimp accompanied by a slice of avocado and topped with a plum sesame sauce (which was heavenly). I might have snuck a piece of mango or two before the guests arrived. And Fpoo's grandma ("Baba") totally called me out on it ^.^ haha!! But it was a lot of fun. All the ladies started belly dancing, and I ran and hit underneath the table when MamaM called me to come dance too. She tried teaching me before the party started, and I actually learned that it isn't an easy thing. I'm not big on shaking the hips anyways :p. Friday night I stayed over and played on Saturday all day. Originally the plan was to go out and play some badminton, but the day was so dreary that we stayed indoors. The cedele bakery has this delicious blueberry chocolate cake with cheesecake and crushed pecan filling (in layers). SO DELICIOUS. I finished the rest the next morning ^.^!

Friday night was fun because even though I was exhausted, I stayed up so late just to talk about martial arts (and learn a few cool moves from muay thai!) from Fpoo. He's leaving this Wednesday, so yeah :( it's the last time we'll be able to just hang out for a while. So Saturday was watching some Sarah Brightman and lazying around. Saturday night we went to eat a Banana Leaf, which is in Little India. The food wasn't bad! (But my farts may have been especially vicious afterwards LOL!)

What else....food.....yes so then Faruq and I met up with St.Ha. at New Asia Bar (which was closed, so we were on the 70th floor of the Swissotel instead) to watch the fireworks. Then we met up with YC and his girlfriend Hazel (who is SO cute!!) at a live music place called Timbre. Then afterwards we went clubbing at the Ministry of Sound. I'm not the clubbing type at all, but we all had fun. So what else? Afterwards I went home and eventually fell asleep. Today was such a lazy day for me - but at least I'm well rested for the coming week!!

Miss you tinks,
S

oops i did it again!

Yeah, this is the time to make a serious confession: I sometimes listen to Britney Spears while working in the offiCe. But I have no shame!!! No shame!

So today I came a bit late into work because I came back from KL so late last night. Then today I just reviewed some notes from the meetings and organized them. Then I went to Clarke Quay for dinner at Iguana Cafe, which was all right but nothing too special, then we went to tcc for dessert. Andd now I am pooped, but I am excited about this weekend?!

waiting around in Malaysia

Hi Baby! I am currently waiting for my coworker to meet up with him after a five hour "coach" (bus) ride. The seats were surprisingly uber comfortable and plush - and they had massage features! I thought that they would have some "powerpoints" (outlets) to work, but no luck-so I just slept basically the whole time. They served a breakfast of rice, roasted soybeans, and baked chicken. However, the soybeans were with those nasty little sardine-ish things, so I avoided them. I just can't bring myself to eat anything that still has eyes... So what else? I might stay here overnight in KL (Kuala Lumpur). We shall see how everything goes. I was walking around the bus terminal and saw "tit bits" hhaahahhahahaha I laughed to myself, maybe even a few chuckles....yeah. Funny. Ok well I am meeting him soon. Ttyl baby! Miss you un poquito!! Love, Sansies

Tiring Weekend!

On Friday, after work, I went out to play some pool (lots of pool) and came home late, collapse on the bed and was wondering how I would ever wake up on time to play some badminton. Unfortunately (and fortunately), it rained on and off on Saturday, so badminton was canceled (as well as the courts being booked). I just went over early to Paragon to go for some grocery shopping to make my 'famous' (not really) Lemon Blueberry Trifle (which turned out great!). Then we just came back, and I recruited everyone to help out a little to make this trifle (which made it more special/more delicious)! The end product was really nice, and next time I am considering using different flavo(u)rs just to see how it would turn out. But I love lemons so much...maybe raspberries would be nice (but they are so soft...hmmm). So then SH and I went to sleep (like a bunch of cats ^.^), and I'm pretty sure that I slept the most of the group there. We got to see some photos from the Thailand and Laos trip that our friends took; the party was a farewell party, and a lot of fun but bittersweet. We grilled some hot dogs, franks, and chicken (which came last but was definitely the best). I also bought two Korean 'couture' dresses from People of Asia Co. I'm wearing one right now!! :D

On Sunday I went to Orchard to do some more shopping, and I got a work outfit from Zara (just a nice white shirt and high waisted black skirt). Then Fpoo and NM picked me up from Taka to run to Botanical Gardens. What else? Then we went shopping at Tanglin Mall for some food (while thinking about a place to eat dinner), and suddenly we decided to make Buffalo Wings at 'home,' Mac&Cheese, and some delicious salad (Nicoise? Rocket?) - Spinach + Rocket + Goat Cheese + Roasted Pine nuts + Olive OIl + Balsamic Dressing = delicious salad. The buffalo wing sauce wasn't too spicy, but I ate enough that it made me cry. haha! But I am loving that we are cooking together - seriously it makes the experience 1000x better than when you go to a restaurant. And I am sort of a poohead because I like to snack while cooking. But when I am around food, I have no chance...

So here begins a new week! I will be in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow!! Crazzzzzy!!! :D

call me george foreman 'cuz i be sellin everybody grillz!

Hi Baby!!

I am being all awesome and typing into my blog using my phone. I admit that it is a bit superfluous but because I am too lazy to bring my laptop home all the time, having internet access on a full qwerty keyboard is not so bad.

Anywayz, I have been very busy at work, but last night I met up with a friend to eat some abalone, which is not so bad. Then today I went for some pho in a place called Holland Village, which seriously is quite quaint. My friend had pho ga while I had pho tai, the usual, you know. Then we went to this movie called 'English not enough,' which was about the mass effort China made for its citizens to learn English well. It was a bit funny at times but some people laughed in poor taste, at least I think so. My favorite line was 'Do you want some loose (roast) duck?? Haha so finny! N...ok I am going to sleep now. Love you! I hope your first day goes well!

Amazing Weekend!

Friday after work I went to a friend's house to play some Texas Hold 'Em (I won the most money ^_^). yipee!

Then on Saturday the same group of friends went to Sentosa (after going to eat at a hawker center/centre and Queensway Shopping Centre [apparently where one should buy all sporting needs]). We had so much fun! We brought along a frisbee, volleyball and soccer ball. We were all standing on each other's shoulders (while I was doing some back tucks ^.^) and falling/flipping off them. Then for dinner we grabbed some food at another hawker centre, bought some groceries and rented some movies (School for Scoundrels, The Hitchhikers, and Lord of War). SoS was not bad, and we didn't finish Lord of War. The Hitchhikers was a collection of 9 [short] horror films (from 1985) and definitely did not scare me. I played poker again at night (and made like...a dollar :p).

Then today we just hung out until I went to eat at this restaurant called Villa Bali, near Redhill/Queenstown MRTs (?) with a 'classmate' from the seminar last week. The crab meat fried rice was nice but the Pad Thai (or, Phat Thai hahahahHAHAHAHA LMAO) was not so great.

I think my favorite drink combination is 1/2 cranberry juice and 1/2 ginger ale. It goes down so nice, and it has the fizziness to keep my tummy happy! :D

Overall, this weekend was sort of exhausting but sort of totally awesome!!!

Scandalous!!

So last night after work, I went back to Fpoo's house for a while and then we went out to Orchard Rd to eat some bibimbop (and japchae!!) at a Korean restaurant in Takashimaya.  Then we went to the "New Asia Bar" and hung out in the VIP section (because no one was up there, so the manager let us go up there!)!! Don't worry, I didn't stay late, maybe until 11 or so.  The view was magnificent!  It's on the 72nd floor of the hotel, so the night view was so beautiful.  I took some pictures and will upload them later.

This Saturday is National Day (of Independence, I suppose, from Malaysia).  So tonight I'm being all awesome (as usual) and pretending to be a good cook (they're bbqing, so I'm in charge of cutting STuFF) as well as an amazing poker player. I'm bringing fpoo along. hopefully I am not such an easy read.  Then either I am going to Sentosa tomorrow or.........PRAWN FISHING. HAHAHA!  Yeah totally awesome I know. I'm not sure which it will be though.  I am kinda tubobbly now, so if we go to sentosy, it may not be such a good thing. bah!

So what else? Sunday night I'm going out to eat with a friend from the seminar.  Anything else awesome? I hope that I win tonight!  Tonight is also the opening of the Olympics!  Huzzah!  So in Chinese culture, 8 is a lucky number (along with 3 and 1), so today is ESPECIALLY auspicious: 8 Aout 2008.  Nice nice, eh?  I was talking to Mommy, and everything sounds ok. I heard that you were going camping. Bah! I miss KatKat and Ethie. :(  And all the other babies. Maybe even Codge. :p

Mommy told me this story about how Henry would stuff a dollar bill into his hand, but when I tried to do it, it just sort of fell through the other side. But I am awesome because I figured it out when I was 1!! Huzzah!  Ah eyes = water. :'( I miss Mommy and Daddy.

Don't Cha......PCD hahah...

So the person I went to the museum with is getting ready to move back to the US. Bummer!! These last few days I have been running around Singapore and being cool. I went to one of these Professional Development seminars and met some cool people! Monday night I went grocery shopping with some friends and cooked some Couscous with Cordon Bleu. We ate a bunch of strawberries and peaches (the apples have yet to be eaten). I miss strawberries a lot! :D They're expensive here!

Anyways, I played some poker last Saturday night too, which was nice. I'm going to do that again I think this Friday night. Hooray! Tomorrow night!!

After class on Tuesday I went shopping with one of my guy friends and tried to eat two entrees but it didn't work out so well. We ended up at Borders looking at architecture books! I am such a sucker sometimes :) Hooray!

Then on Wednesday after class I went with some of my classmates to just sit down and talk about business in Singapore. It was cool, and I sincerely hope that we do stay in touch. I don't know how well that works here though. We'll find out soon enough. Then I went to play pool (surprisingly better than usual) for a while. Maybe I'm getting less rusty. Playing pool isn't cheap here though. I wish it were :(. Apparently there are still a lot of business opportunities in Singapore.

What else? Tonight I'm hanging out with Fpoo and his friend, and tomorrow night is poker night! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!! Hm...I might end up cooking something delicious tomorrow night too. I love to cook now, baby. Can you believe it? I'm going to try to cook more often now, but I have to find a kitchen to use. I'm also meeting one of my classmates for dinner on Sunday night. And Saturday I might go prawn fishing!!

So recap because it's very random: Friday is poker night, Saturday is fishing, and Sunday is something and then dinner. I wonder what I should do. Maybe I will go to the beach again :).

Love you!!

Being Awesome Like Mangosteen

Also Friday night I went to the Four Seasons Durian Cafe! Don't worry, I didn't eat any. I tried durian once and will never try it again. Apparently the TIGER PRAWN durian is the best. I paid $20/kg!! Man so ex la! (expensive!!)

But of course I was not left alone to look on while my friends were eating durian. No no no. I was eating kilograms of mangosteen!! So delicious x 1000.

I am secretly in love with mangosteen. SO DELICIOUS. Apparently it is a superfruit, but that means that you have to eat the peel too (totally gross).

HOORAY MANGOSTEEN!

Love,
Sans

Ne-Yo - Closer (Laksa)

Hi Baby!

On Friday I went to Fpoo's house for some dinner with his mom's family :). We had this awesome thing called "Laksa," which his grandmother cooked (she is a great cook)! And the three cats are all fatter now (they call "Trump" "Plump") hahaha so funny! I only saw Twinkle running around la la la oh Twinkle..

Anyways, we also played Taboo, and that was fun!! There are so many cousins, and I've met I think all of them now except for one or two. F's sister is so AWESOME! Really. I think you would like her a lot. She is similar to you! Except she is strong...like me ^.^! His family has been so nice to me. We also had an awesome meeting that afternoon, and I got to see the boss in action :)!

Then Saturday I went to this 'country club'-equivalent called One [degree] 15. It was really nice - and there is an infinity pool there - Fpoo and I swam for a bit! Then, I went to a movie marathon and played lots of texas hold 'em and tien len! hee hee. Then I went to play some pool until early in the morning - and I met two guys who are really good!!! They are scary good!! Ok, well they are good good great! yes optimissimi.

I also bought a new phone on Friday. Don't tell M/D :) j/k! Uhh...yeah it's really nice, and it is totally awesome. I have to think of a name for it though. Hm...Ideas?

So what else is going on? I am going to the National Museum of Sg today with a friend. I'm sort of running late! So toodles and take lots of pics in LA!!

Te quiero un poquito!

Sansie
